Early treatment (also known as Phase One) typically begins around age eight or nine. Phase Two will begin around age 11 or older. The goal of early treatment is to correct the growth of the jaw and certain bite problems, such as underbite. Early treatment also helps to make room for permanent teeth to come in properly, which lessens the chance of extractions in the future.

Many of the orthodontic treatments at Sunrise Orthodontics including straightening and spacing your teeth, positioning your jaw, and improving your bite patterns can improve your self-confidence, breathing, chewing, and speaking.

We offer a variety of appliances including elastics (rubber bands), palatal expanders, retainers, separators or spacers, twin block appliances, MARA appliance, and face mask.

To keep your smile looking its best, you’ll have to wear a retainer to preserve and stabilize your results. Retainers are needed to control or limit potential changes in tooth position. They are used after braces treatment to hold teeth in their correct alignment while the surrounding gums, bone, and muscle adjust to the new positioning of your teeth.

The new technology completely eliminates the tray and putty impressions, where the experience is comparable to stuffing a big wad of gum in your mouth.
