At Sunrise Orthodontics, we work to provide the best orthodontic care to our patients in the Rancho Cordova, Elk Grove, and Placerville areas. We love being part of the local community. Our focus is on you, making sure that you feel comfortable throughout your treatment, and utilizing the best-proven and latest technology to help you achieve your perfect smile. Our entire team of orthodontic professionals will help you select the right personalized treatment plan for your orthodontic needs. To get you started, we will schedule your first visit to our office.
What to Expect at Your First Visit
Your first visit to Sunrise Orthodontics will give us a chance to get to know all about you, learn your medical history, and evaluate your orthodontic issues. The visit will take about one hour, giving you plenty of time to ask questions and learn about your treatment options. One of our expert treatment coordinators will greet you and conduct the exam. Our professional staff will take X-rays and photos of your teeth at the exam. Once we have all of your information and images, our doctor will meet with you and discuss treatment.
Complimentary Visit
Your initial visit to Sunrise Orthodontics is completely complimentary. There is no fee for your initial examination, orthodontic evaluation, answering your follow-up questions, discussing your treatment options, and reviewing the financial information.
Comprehensive Exam
During your first visit, you will have a comprehensive orthodontic examination. This includes the following steps:
- Patient forms that have been completed by you with your full dental and medical history for review.
- Next, one of our highly-trained professional staff will take panoramic X-rays of your teeth and jaw. This is a continuous X-ray of your entire mouth in one panoramic sweep. In most cases, the staff member will also take a lateral cephalometric X-ray which is a side view of your head to examine your jaw.
- Then, our staff will also take dental photographs of your teeth and gums to record your starting point in treatment for future reference. The doctor will then do a physical examination and determine a treatment plan.
Review Treatment Options
Once we have completed your exam and gathered all of your information, our treatment coordinator will sit down and discuss your treatment options with you and your family. They will explain which treatments will meet your goals, the timeline for each treatment option, and when is the best time to get your treatment started. We will cover every detail thoroughly and be happy to answer all of your questions. Depending on the treatment needed, we may suggest starting after a specific point in dental development, after specific teeth have grown in. All of this information will be discussed with you.
Listen to Your Concerns
An important part of your initial visit will be listening to your concerns regarding your treatment, how the treatment will fit into your lifestyle, and the results that you want to achieve. We want to take the time you need to get all of your questions answered. We know that orthodontic treatment is a big decision for you and your family, and we will partner with you to accomplish orthodontic goals.
Frequently Asked Questions
During your first visit, we will answer all of these frequently asked questions.
- Do you need orthodontic treatment?
- How long will the treatment take to complete?
- When is the best time to start treatment?
- What are your treatment options?
- What are the costs of treatment?
What Does Orthodontic Treatment Cost?
Cost is an important consideration for all of our patients, and therefore we walk through the treatment costs with you for each treatment option you are considering. We work with you to create a payment plan that you are comfortable with, and that makes sense for you and your family.
How Long Does Orthodontic Treatment Take?
We will give you our best estimate on how long your personalized treatment plan will take to complete, but it is an estimate. Sometimes treatments take longer or shorter than our original treatment plan. This depends on your progress during treatment which can differ from patient to patient, even in the same family. We will continue to update you if your timeline changes for any reason throughout your treatment.
